Thirty-three people have died and 339 have been seriously injured because of cold weather in Moscow, since the beginning of 2002, reported the Moscow health committee. During the ten days since the beginning of the new year, 339 people have been rushed to the city hospitals with the diagnose of "supercooling," most of them were in a state of strong alcoholic intoxication. During this period more than 160 people came to hospitals because some parts of their bodies were frost bitten. In the past twenty-four hours, thirty-three people died of the cold in Moscow, and 33 were injured.
