Interior Ministry said the personalities of the killers of well-known TV presenter Vladislav Listyev and Galina Starovoytova were already established.
Investigators are searching for Listyev's murder for 7 years. Listyev, first General Director og Public Russian television, was killed in March 1995 with two shots, in the doorway of his own house. His death was the first pre-planned murder in a series of assassinations shocked Russia. First Russian President Boris Yeltsin promised to do his best in organizing the investigation. Even the public council tried to help the investigators to get to the truth.
Listyev's murder is recalling in mass-media annually in the beginning of March. And this year the Interior Ministry officials said the investigation ascertained the killers of Vladislav Listyev and Galina Starovoytova. Their names will remain undisclosed for the time being.
At least 10 persons pleaded guilty in killing Listyev, but their depositions were checked and found being contrary to facts. The only truth was found that Listyev's killers also managed to kill Galina Starovoytova in her native city of St. Petersburg.
Two days ago the newspapers reported that two suspected perpetrators were extradited from Czech Republic to Russia. But today the officials denied their involvement in the case.
