In view of the heightened interest of Muscovites in the war in Iraq, additional copies of geographical maps of that country have been printed in Moscow. For example, in six days after the beginning of the war in Iraq, the Cartographia State Company has printed 10,000 copies of detailed maps of that country, and they are being actively purchased.
One can find not only big inhabited areas, but also small towns and villages, railways and motor roads on these maps. Apart from that, they carry the detailed plan of Baghdad, showing districts and main sights of the Iraqi capital, including the notorious Hotel Palestine in which foreign correspondents lived and which was shelled by an American tank on Tuesday.
According to Moscow book shop assistants, the previous copies of the Iraqi maps were purchased several months before the beginning of the war.
After it turned out that Deputy Prime Minister Andrei Belousov included the Fonbet betting company in the list of backbone enterprises that can count on state support, everyone started talking about these bookmakers.
