According to the results of an opinion poll that has been recently conducted in Italy, the young generation of Italy does not choose pop stars or football players as their role models. Young people of Italy want to be like Mother Teresa and the Pope.
The poll was conducted by the Milan-based organization Eurispes; young Italian people between 12-24 years of age took part in the research. A quarter of respondents said that they try to be like Mother Teresa. Calcutta-based missionary devoted her entire life to help Indian paupers. The world-famous nun is a bit more popular in Italy than John Paul II, the Pope. Another idol for the Italian youth is Che Guevara - eight percent of respondents expressed their sympathies to him. Diego Maradona gained five percent of votes.
As a spokesperson for Eurispes said, young people explained their choice for Mother Teresa and the Pope with the admiration of their bravery, honesty and sincere devotion to people. As it turns out, the modern youth tries to find these qualities in their role models.
After it turned out that Deputy Prime Minister Andrei Belousov included the Fonbet betting company in the list of backbone enterprises that can count on state support, everyone started talking about these bookmakers.
