On Saturday US Secretary of State Colin Powell who arrived in Tashkent late last evening will have negotiations with Uzbek President Islam Karimov, Foreign Minister Abdulaziz Kamilov, Defence Minister Kadyr Gulyamov and other high-ranking officials of Uzbekistan. During the US Secretary of State's consultations in Tashkent a number of problems will be raised, in particular, the fight against terrorism and the revival of Afghanistan after the overthrow of the Taliban regime. Colin Powell will also visit the Tashkent Public Education Centre, a non-governmental organisation. The US Secretary of State is making a tour of Europe and Asia. On Saturday afternoon he will leave for Bishkek.
