The Coordination Council of Russian-speaking public organizations was established in Kirghizia. The Council was established by seven public organizations, such as the Council of compatriots of Kirghizia "Accord", the Kirghiz department of Russian communities, the movement "For the Union and Brotherhood of Peoples", etc. The principal tasks of the Council are to unite efforts on the protection of rights of the Russian-speaking population of the republic, to stimulate its participation in the political and social life in Kirghizia and to consolidate economic and cultural links between Russian-speaking people in Kirghizia and their compatriots in Russia.
