President Fernando Henrique Cardoso of the Federative Republic of Brazil will pay an official visit to Russia January 13-16. The Kremlin press service reported Friday that on January 14 Fernando Henrique Cardoso will hold talks with President Vladimir Putin of Russia. The press service noted that the visit is called to contribute to further intensification of political collaboration, consolidation of trade, economic, scientific, technological and humanitarian ties, expansion of Russia-Brazil cooperation in world affairs, primarily in the UN and other international and regional organisations. A number of joint documents are expected to be signed on the results of the summit.
