When opening the winter session of Nato defence ministers at Brussels NATO HQ, Secretary-General of the North Atlantic alliance George Robertson said that Nato and Russia had the opportunity to change deep-rooted stereotypes through joint action. According to him, the September 11th terrorist attacks had changed the conception of global possibilities. He said that it was obvious that this had been reflected in the alliance's relationship with Russia. He stressed that it was essential that this chance be taken.
