Russian president Vladimir Putin met Belarussian president Alexander Lukashenko in the Kremlin on Wednesday. This was the seventh meeting of the two leaders, which, as Mr Putin put it, means a lot and testifies to intensive bilateral contacts and dynamically developing relations in all areas. "Thank Lord, lead-up perturbations are already past for Russia," said Putin. He added that work should be accelerated as regards implementing earlier concluded agreements. According to the Russian leader, a lot has already been done. "We highly appreciate your commitment to developing positive relations with Russia and the union state. It is not only your campaign motto, but the most serious approach, the essence of your convictions, and Belarus' policy over the past years," the Russian president said to Alexander Lukashenko. Vladimir Putin noted that Russia, in turn, shared such an approach.
