A group of Russia's Emergencies Ministry personnel arrived in Afghanistan on Tuesday afternoon, the ministry's press-service reported. Two transport aircraft carrying personnel, equipment and vehicles /including three Kamaz trucks/ landed at Bagram airfield 20 kilometres east of the Afghan capital. The task facing Russia's Ministry in Afghanistan is to set up a humanitarian base in Kabul and to deploy a mobile hospital. The base is designed to deliver and distribute Russian and international humanitarian relief among Afghanistan's population. The first group of Emergencies Ministry and Health Ministry workers arrived at Bagram on Monday. In a few days' time, it was noted at the press-service, Russian transport helicopters will arrive in Afghanistan, to be followed by a Russian humanitarian convoy to deliver humanitarian cargoes from Kabul across Afghanistan.
