China and Kyrgyzstan will coordinate their anti-terrorist activity at a bilateral and multilateral level, reads a joint Chinese-Kyrgyz communique that sums up the results of Kyrgyz Foreign Minister Maratbek Imanaliyev's visit to China on November 22-25. According to the document, which was signed by Imanaliyev and his Chinese counterpart Tang Jiaxuan, the sides are going to speed up the effort to create a legal base and a mechanism for setting the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation /SCO/ in motion. Beijing and Bishkek will also join efforts to work out the Statute of the SCO and set up an anti-terrorist institute in Bishkek. Apart from that, the sides agreed to combat separatism and extremism on a bilateral and multilateral basis. In conclusion, two countries' ministers declared that the United Nations Organisation and its Security Council must play an active part in the effort to restore peace and stability in Afghanistan.
