On Tuesday, Russian President Vladimir Putin held talks with King of Jordan Abdullah II in the Kremlin. The Jordanian leader arrived in Russia the other day on a working visit. The Russian President stated that Moscow was very pleased with the present-day partnership, which the two countries had managed to establish. According to Vladimir Putin, Russia and Jordan have many issues to discuss, including economy, military and technical cooperation.
Besides, Moscow is interested in the Arab leaders' position with regard to the situation in the Middle East, the Russian leader said.
In his turn the king of Jordan considers the coordination of actions with Russia, concerning the Middle East problem and the settlement of Iraq questions, as quite effective. According to the sovereign, the issues of coordinating both countries' efforts with respect to these urgent problems is of great importance. "We want to discuss the way to coordinate our efforts in order to bring peace to the region in this responsible time span," the king said. "We hope to hold quite a useful dialogue on our joint work in the Palestinian-Israeli field," Abdullah II added.
According to him, he "feels flattered and satisfied by the relations, which have been developing between our countries for the last two years, including the economic, military and technical spheres." On the part of Russia, Foreign Minister Igor Ivanov, Deputy Head of the Kremlin administration Sergei Prikhodko and head of the Chechen administration Ahmad Kadyrov took part in the meeting.
