Russian President Vladimir Putin discussed the situation in Iraq with British Prime Minister Tony Blair last night. As the president's press office announced, the British PM phoned Mr Putin to discuss the situation. Mr Blair told the Russian president about the results of the British-American summit in Belfast while Mr Putin, in his turn, told Mr Blair about an upcoming seminar in Saint Petersburg entitled Peace, security and international law: a look into the future, which is scheduled to take place on April 12. The event will be attended by renowned international legal experts and the leaders of France, Germany and Russia will attend the opening ceremony.
The remarks from the Pope came as "a very strong step towards degradation," "given the rather massive nature of homosexuality" among the Catholic clergy.
