On June 19 the Defence Ministry began to remove ammunition and military equipment from the 130th Russian military warehouse in the Eastern Georgian city of Sagarejo, according to the press service for the army headquarters in Transcaucasia.
The ammunition and military equipment will be transferred to the Russian military base deployed at Gyumri, the second largest city in Armenia. On June 20 the first echelon of Russian military freight was sent to the base at Gyumri. The process of completing the transfer of military freight will be completed on June 25. Observers from the Georgian Defence Ministry and Ministry of Internal Affairs will monitor the transfer of ammunition and military equipment.
The transfer of ammunition and military equipment is being realized on the basis of a corresponding act which was signed by Georgia and Russia last year.
