&to=http://english.pravda.ru/world/20/91/368/15339_hillaryclinton.html' target=_blank>Hillary Rodham Clinton's Republican challenger for the Senate, Jeanine Pirro, announced Wednesday that she is dropping out of the race campaign and running for state attorney general instead.
Pirro, the top prosecutor for Westchester County in New York City's suburbs, had been under pressure from her own party to drop out of the 2006 Senate race for weeks and run for the state office instead.
"I have decided that my law enforcement background better qualifies me for a race for New York State attorney general than a race for the United States Senate," Pirro said in a statement.
