The London Independent, like The Guardian and The BBC have never condemned terrorist atrocities on Russians. In the middle of immense tragedy, they play their anti-Russian politics. BBC TV, Independent TV and Channel 4 (UK) describe these genocidal maniacs as "hostage-takers, demanding independence for Chechnya".
Here's my letter to the Independent newspaper(unpublished). Thank you.
Whatever the rights and wrongs on the ground in Chechnya (and it must be recognised that it was Chechen terrorists who started to kidnap, torture and murder in 1993 during a period of democratic openness under Yeltsin) there is absolutely no excuse for the Independent and other newspapers not to condemn these murderous atrocities. Whatever their shortcomings, elections in Chechnya are the way forward and it is again incomprehensible why the Independent (August 31 editorial) should be so strongly opposed to them.
After it turned out that Deputy Prime Minister Andrei Belousov included the Fonbet betting company in the list of backbone enterprises that can count on state support, everyone started talking about these bookmakers.
